This
award-winning home is on the Gulf Islands off the coast of British
Columbia. Its 3000 square feet of flowing geometry is on three levels
with an open plan. "We took several creative risks on this project but
the rewards for stepping 'outside the box' were many", says Designer and
Project Manager, Murray Arnott. "I stretched the imagination and
abilities of the log builder, Tim Reid of Whistler Valley Log Homes, and
Doug Jamieson, the General Contractor, but they consistently rose to the
occasion.
The main living areas,
which make generous use of natural light, wrap around a large
three-sided fireplace. The full circle Master Bedroom Suite is entirely
on its own level as is the children's wing. The construction, which took
almost eighteen months is a hybrid of Scandinavian fullscribe and piéce
en piéce. |
